We are Reviving 19th Century Buildings of Athens
Patision & Antoniadou Street
An eclectic-style mansion from the early 20th century on Patission Street, which combines Art Nouveau morphological elements, a French-influenced roof with dormers (mansard), and characteristic oriel-style projections.
Oikia Tsopotou Pireos & Menandrou 22 Street
The Tsopotos house. At the corner of Peiraios and Menandrou streets, near Omonia, the house was built in 1870 and demolished around 1970–71. According to published reports, its unknown architect drew inspiration from the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates in Plaka.
Stadiou & Korai 38 Street
Bank of Athens Building, 38 Stadiou Street (formerly No. 32). An imposing Neo-Renaissance/Eclectic bank edifice dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, featuring a monumental arched entrance portal, Corinthian pilasters, relief-decorated pediments, and balconies supported by marble corbels.
The Greek National Opera (GNO) was founded in 1939
